His experience includes: Insurance industry: 18 years experience managing plans covering over 200,000 members in numerous industries and various size employers with Blue Cross & Blue Shield. TPA/Managed Care: Chief operating officer of a third party administrator (TPA) managed care subsidiary of a major hospital system. Private industry: Designed, implemented and administered benefit and compensation plans while taking a 1,300 employee subsidiary private in an asset buyout. Active in professional organizations, he teaches courses in the design/administration of employee benefit plans and health care economics at the University of Houston (recipient of the 1996 Special Service Award). President (1994) of the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists (ISCEBS) headquartered in Brookfield, Wisconsin and participates in numerous professional and technical seminars. Mr. Carlson is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and a national director for the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC-USA) serving on their executive board.
