. . . working with clients to envision and create their preferred workplaces
We specialize in supporting client excellence in all of the areas generally called "Human Resources". Although we have an extensive body of knowledge from having written five popular business books, we have a total of eleven from which to draw original material. Moreover four were business best-sellers.
In addition, because our CEO, Joyce Gioia [joy-yah] writes The Herman Trend Alert, she stays on top of the latest research in what works to attract, optimize, and retain talent around the world. Besides having created the certification for Employee Retention Specialists in the United States, Gioia has also developed a series of Master Classes, covering the entire employee lifecycle to be delivered in Southeast Asia.
Here is a partial list of capabilities of the consulting arm of The Herman Group, THG Consulting Partners:
Assessments: we offer a wide variety of pre-and post-employment assessments as well as team, leadership, and employee culture surveys. We have also administered 360°s.
Recruitment Services: we have expertise in helping write employment advertising and create a recruiting function with an organization. In addition, we have an extensive network of recruiters with whom we work to find talent with specialized skills. For large-scale hires, we also have relationships with RPO (Recruitment Process Outsourcing) companies.
Building a Vital Talent Pipeline: Beginning with bonding with school students, there are specific steps that an employer may take to bond with young people at an early age.
Onboarding: Design and creation of an effective onboarding program is vital to establishing the right relationship with new employees so that they will stay.
Employee Engagement: Help organizations large and small to engage their employees for optimum productivity. Small and medium-size companies can have a competitive advantage, but most entrepreneurs are not aware of the strategies and tactics that can create it.
Executive Coaching: Coaching for supervisors, managers, and executives to help them maximize their effectiveness as leaders.
Employee Retention: Building on our extensive track record in helping organization to reduce their employee turnover, we help employers identify and address their areas for improvement. Identifying the problem areas may involve one-on-one interviews, focus groups, and/or employee surveys to pinpoint the opportunity areas. Often this assessment will result in the need for leadership training, which we also deliver.
Gamification*: Many organizations have discovered that they are able to engage their workers at higher levels, when they use gamification to bring fun and excitement to the workplace. We can help create and implement games that engage internal and external customers at higher levels.
Exit and Stay Interviews: The Herman Group has a division called Innerview Interviews®. We engage certified human resource professionals worldwide to conduct exit and stay interviews as well as why-didn't-you-take-our-offer interviews which often yield priceless business intelligence.
Leadership Training: Almost always when there is high employee turnover or an issue with culture, one of the key reasons is "Leadership by Anointment", i.e., that people are moved up the ranks without the benefit of training to prepare them to handle the additional responsibilities. This misguided corporate strategy leads to higher turnover and lower morale. We urge our clients to train before promotion.
Strategic Workforce Planning: Ensuring that the organization has the critical employees it needs now and in the future is vital to its survival.
Succession Preparation and Planning: Many organizations are dedicated to succession planning, then ignore the critically important process of up-skilling their talent to the new positions. We can help will the vital strategic workforce planning, as well as specific succession planning and preparation.
*Gamification is the application of game design, game elements, and game mechanics to non-game systems and processes.
